Infrared radiation (IR; or mid-infrared, miR; 4000-400 cm-1; 2500-25000 nm) has become one of the most powerful tools in the analysis process of chemicals. Due to its high molecular peculiarities, application to a wide range of samples, rapid measurement and unambiguity, infrared spectroscopy forms a powerful approach to clarifying qualitative and quantitative information from various types of biological and chemical substances. For these reasons, it has become a bioanalytical technique with diverse applications. This work aims to be a comprehensive and critical review of recent achievements in the field of biomolecular infrared spectroscopy and analysis
